Desserts & Music

The night was jam packed with yummy desserts, s'mores, bubbles, chalk art, and live music. There were performances by friends of Curtis, Kara Johnson, Brittany Eldredge, and Megan McLean. More Music

A special musical number was performed by Curtis' cousin, Hudson Smith. He played "Piano Man", a song Curtis' family has sung at every family get together for many years. The audience joined in the singing!

Kind Act of Service

We are grateful for our productions crew for making these performances possible. Only two days before the event, we were contacted by Jessie and Andrews from Blackbear Productions, who offered to build us a stage and do live sound mixing for the performances. Balloon Release

Everyone in attendance wrote special notes to Curtis and attached them to balloons. As the sun was setting, we sang "Happy Birthday" and released the balloons. A moment of silence for Curtis followed the release. Although sadness was felt, the night was filled with love. Many memories of Curtis were shared, and each of us was inspired to be a little bit better.

Balloon Release in Hawaii

The night ended in perfect Curtis-fashion, with sprinklers going off and everyone running wildly to save the music equipment. It was a night we'll always remember, and we are thankful for those who were there to share it with us!

Here are Facebook posts about our fun evening.

Donation to the Homeless Youth Center

We were also thrilled to deliver the clothes that were donated at Draper Park to Volunteers of America's Salt Lake Homeless Youth Center. Curtis’ mom, Loisann, and dear friend Taylor were able to make the delivery. VOA was overwhelmed with gratitude for our donation. We told them about all of you and the wonderful support you have been giving! We are looking forward to working with them more in the future!
